Conversation with a friend (3) – We can all make a difference in each other’s lives.

A friend wrote to me after seeing how I’ve set up a blog and all... (Everyone who writes kindly to me on my “blog contacts” I consider my friend.  I might not have the time to answer every kind letter, but I will always try)

Friend:  I wish I could be a quarter as brave as u but I have so many other day to day struggles just to survive that I just can’t face the past. I realize that ultimately it isn't good for my mental health but I barely get through my days as it is, so I just have to deal with that as best I can.

Pana:  What makes a person brave?  Sometimes the bravest people of all are the ones who are just getting through their day to day struggles to survive.

Not facing your reality is not only bad for mental health but for your physical health and also the blocking of your spiritual health I believe.  Facing your past on your own is very hard, but if you ever want to speak... I am here.

Friend:  When I read your poems, it often feels as if they were written for me too. This is why your work is so paramount to get out there because so many people would be able to identify with those words and deep-seated feelings.

Pana:  Lots of people like yourself have told me that they identify with my poems, so that is why I feel compelled to share and not keep them all to myself.  If people like you identify with anything I have written, then what a blessing that is for me... a true gift of love to and from the world... remember... I benefit also... I heal when I hear that my work touches others, because knowing that it does touches me for good too.

Friend:  U are so clever and so attuned to others' suffering because u went through it yrself. I wish we had met in person when we were young so that we could have worked together to save the world! Set up a foundation for abused adults who have never had the courage to deal with their abuse. But Heavenly Father put us in touch when He did for a reason and u must know that u have helped me so much by simply sharing yr journey.  When one feels so alone in such a cruel world, it can be scary and disheartening.  So to find just one other person who truly understands your past, it is so freeing.

Pana:  I know what you mean... you pulled me through some really difficult times too...  It works both ways remember!  LIFE brought you to me and me to you...

Do you not think that in some beautiful way, WE ARE already working together to save the world... your helping me... me helping you... a friendship that encourages and keeps me going strong... you going strong too?

Nothing has to be so cut and dry to be understood by the human spirit dear friend... a person does not have to be clever to be able to save the world.  You and I are already saving the world in our own ways and by the loving support we give to each other.

Perhaps if you ever have a way of letting others, and abuse organisations know about my blog, then maybe that would be yet another way to contribute... asking people to support this endeavour somehow.  Others who have been affected by child abuse... adult survivors... domestic violence organizations... etc.  This is one way we and others are able to “work together” at making a difference.  We don’t all need to be doing the same thing.  Not one’s effort needs to be considered greater than the others, so long as we are all doing our bit in our own way to help make this a better world.  I am so grateful for the strength you are to me.

It might take a while to get loads of followers so that the messages can reach more people, but I'm doing my bit for king and country... hahahaaa!  I really believe in what I'm doing in my quest to help others...  so thank you for believing in me too as I believe in you too.

WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

We’re all in this together, upon this world of ours,
We’re all in this together, sharing peace and endless sorrows.
Suffering and turmoil, the power of nature’s hand,
We’re all in this together, born to any land.
Though towns and countries are many,
There’s only one place called earth,
And we’re all in this together,
No matter what our place of birth.
If only we could strive to share and love each other,
Reaching out to uplift every sister and brother,
Whether we are strangers, whether we are friends,
We’re all in this together with each life that starts and ends.
Let us follow in the footsteps of our God who grants us life.
Let us truly love each other, to banish all pain and strife.
Let us reach out with His Kindness as we travel here together,
Let none be left alone, let us be there for each other.
For trials are a part of life, and there’s none who can escape,
We’re all in this together, no matter what our state!
Let us do for one another the good that we wish upon ourselves,
As we’re all in this together, we can bless each other’s lives.

Since as far back as I can remember, family, friends, complete strangers and strangely even animals (birds included) have come to me for help and comfort and I have always felt the calling to be there for others in any way that I possibly can.
